Chapter Eleven Signage <br />Section 11 -1. Introduction <br />The purpose of this Chapter is to balance the need for signage with an <br />environment that remains visually pleasing and uncluttered. Additionally, the <br />regulation of signage is undertaken to assure clear view ways for the motorist. <br />Section 11 -2. How to use this Chapter. <br />This Chapter is divided into six parts summarized below: <br />CHAPTER ELEVEN: SIGNAGE <br />PART I. DEFINITIONS. Set forth at the beginning of the Chapter, definitions <br />assure an understanding of the terms which follow. <br />PART II. SIGNS NOT REQUIRING A PERMIT. Certain signs and types of signs <br />do not require a permit. This part provides information on which of these signs are <br />exempt from permits. <br />PART III. SIGNS REQUIRING A PERMIT. This section covers signs which are <br />allowed in the County provided certain requirements are met as well as a permit <br />obtained. <br />PART IV. TABLE SIX: "Regulations for on- premise signage by zoning district - <br />number & maximum size ". This table outlines dimensional requirements for on- <br />premise signs in the various County zoning districts. <br />PART V. HOW TO OBTAIN A PERMIT. The process of obtaining a sign permit is <br />outlined, including what information is required for the permit and where the <br />permit can be obtained. Additionally, certain signs require more than a "sign" <br />permit. For example, electrical permits may be required. Secondary permits are also <br />explained herein. <br />PART VI. MISCELLANEOUS REGULATIONS RELATING TO SIGNAGE. <br />Additional regulations for signs are provided in this part. <br />PART I. DEFINITIONS. <br />Section 11 -3.
