CABARRUS COUNTY <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />1 <br />�A CAI �l� JUNE 15 2 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments and Removals - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Marie Ramseur and Edie Moss (at- large) members have resigned from <br />the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC). Also, the JCPC has also <br />been notified from Raleigh that the "Police Chief (designee)" position must <br />only be filled by a police chief and not a designee. <br />"Student under 18" representatives Hunter Moore (CCS) and Cameron <br />McKnight (KCS) graduate from high school this year. They will no longer <br />be eligible for these positions. <br />Hunter Moore has submitted a new application for the JCPC. He would <br />like to continue to serve on this Council. At its May 20th meeting, the <br />JCPC voted to recommend he be appointed to fill the "At- large" position <br />vacated by Ms. Ramseur. <br />David Zienka has served as the "Police Chief (designee)" representative <br />since October 2012. He is willing to serve as an "At- large" representative. <br />The JCPC voted to recommend David Zienka be appointed to the JCPC <br />as an "At- large" representative to complete the unexpired term being <br />vacated by Edie Moss ending June 30, 2016; and to appoint Kannapolis <br />Police Chief Woody Chavis to the JCPC as the "Police Chief" <br />representative to complete the unexpired term ending September 30, <br />2015. <br />An application to serve on the JCPC has been received from Benjamin <br />Baucom. The JCPC voted to recommend he be appointed to the JCPC as <br />the "Juvenile Defense Attorney" representative. This position has been <br />H -7 Page 237 <br />
