35 <br />Tactics identified by the project participants and consulting team include: <br />OBJECTIVE 1: COLLABORATION <br />• Support the CONNECT Our Future planning project and integrate the CEDS into its planning framework <br />• Support collective visioning and align initiatives such as the Advantage Charlotte and "Create It, Make It, Move It" strategy <br />• Participate and support regional economic and workforce events <br />OBJECTIVE 2: POLICIES <br />• Identify and expand the availability of competitive incentives throughout the region <br />• Continue to explore local incentives options; consider the benefits of voter - approved ED sales tax in cities <br />• Engage the elected representatives to assess state - related policies such as FOIA that influence the state's ability to be win <br />competitive ED projects <br />• Affirm and support perception that strong political leadership will be required to carry the region forward <br />OBJECTIVE 3: CROSS - CULTURAL COMPETENCIES <br />• Strengthen and promote the cross - cultural assets in the region, such as the extensive international airport service, Charlotte's <br />status as a designated EB -5 Center for Foreign Investment, the Import- Export Bank, World Affairs Council, and the many <br />international Chambers of Commerce <br />• Champion international diversity assets such as the Charlotte Chamber the 132 different languages currently spoken at <br />Charlotte - Mecklenburg schools and organizations such as International House among others <br />OBJECTIVE 4: MARKETING <br />• Complete an update to the Charlotte Regional Partnership's marketing plan <br />• Ensure the Partnership's website is up to date and oriented toward the target industries identified in this CEDS <br />• Support the Chambers and Economic Development organizations throughout the region in recruitment, retention, and <br />expansion of their community employment and investment base <br />121 I,nwilt a e C .eC[smul <br />Attachment number 1 <br />1 -3 Page 307 <br />
