Companies are feeling more confident, 7 companies mentioned expansion plans in the next 6 -12 months. <br />2. All Cabarrus business owners commented that their current workforce is very stable and productive. <br />3. Job openings at these companies are increasing, 13 of the 16 companies had at least one position available. <br />4. Six businesses asked specifically about hiring military veterans. We referred them to Ken Sellers, North Caroli- <br />na Department of Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions, Concord Office /Cabarrus Job Link Center. <br />Noteworthy <br />• New Jersey -based developers, The Silverman Group represented <br />by Avison Young will be building a 400,000 speculative building <br />near the Concord Regional Airport. <br />• The Charlotte marketing team for CBRE Group Inc. has been <br />named the real estate broker of the Philip Morris USA facility. <br />CBRE along with Cabarrus EDC, has hosted two tours with EDC <br />and Chamber Boards. More tours are being planned for City, County and legislative leaders. <br />Upcoming Events: <br />11/15 NC Department of Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker hosts a Listening Tour in Cabarrus County for the ten <br />county Charlotte Region. <br />11/18 Presentation to NC Department of Commerce by Cabarrus EDC.
