CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 21 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Discuss Options for the Old Bethel School Property <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Board of Trustees of Woodson University has decided to withdraw its <br />offer to purchase the Old Bethel School Property. Some options that the <br />Board of Commissioners may consider are: reconsideration of previous <br />offers to purchase, soliciting additional offers for purchase, or abatement <br />and demolition of the buildings on the property. <br />The Town of Midland has expressed interest in acquiring the property. <br />NCGS 160A -274 allows the sale of real or personal property to other units <br />of government. Bids or published notice are not required. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to convey the old Bethel School property to the Town of Midland <br />for $1 as authorized by NCGS 160A -274, Private Negotiation and <br />Conveyance to Other Governments.
