Ilk <br />s CABARRUS CO UNTY <br />r� BOARD OF • • <br />- ADDITION <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 19, 2011 <br />g TNCAR� t; l� <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: CONSENT <br />SUBJECT: County Manager — Joint Resolution of the Boards of County <br />Commissioners of Alamance, Cabarrus, Caswell, Davidson, Rowan, <br />Stanly and Union Counties <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Boards of County Commissioners of Alamance, Cabarrus, <br />Caswell, Davidson, Rowan, Stanly, and Union Counties desire to <br />establish a single Area Authority to operate North Carolina's 1915(b)/(c) <br />Medicaid Waiver and to manage all public resources that may become <br />available for mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, <br />and substance abuse services, including federal block grant funds, <br />federal funding for Medicaid and Health Choice, and all other public <br />funding sources. The following resolution states PBH shall operate as a <br />Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan and addresses its powers, duties and <br />responsibilities, the Area Board, the Area Director, etc. This Joint <br />Resolution shall be effective as of October 1, 2011. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt resolution. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />F -8 Page 398 <br />
