CABARRUS COON' <br />BOARD OF COMMISSI( <br />REGULAR MEETIN <br />JANUARY 19, 201 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Parks Department -Approval of Masterplan for Rob Wallace Park <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />A steering committee comprised of County employees and Midland <br />representatives worked with W.K. Dickson, a consulting firm, to gather <br />community input on the amenities at the new Rob Wallace Park. A <br />webpage about the new park was developed and placed on all local <br />municipal websites. The website included a survey that asked citizens <br />what amenities they wanted to see at the park. Other outreach efforts <br />included: three (3) community input meetings, a booth at the Cabarrus <br />County Fair and Midland Magic Festival, and a presentation to .the <br />Midland Business Association. WK Dickson developed the Masterplan <br />based on community input along with the natural amenities of the <br />property. Tim Lowder of W.K.
