CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 20, 2009 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments -Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />According to the Juvenile Crime Prevetion Council (JCPC) Chair, Carolyn <br />Carpenter, Betty Crump intends to resign her at-large position on the <br />Committee and that the Committee recommends the appointment of Edie <br />Moss to complete Ms. Crump's unexpired term ending 6-30-10. <br />In addition, an appointment is needed to replace Zachary Taylor who fills <br />one of the "student under 18" positions. The Committee recommends the <br />appointment of Fantasia Piedra, a senior at Hickory Ridge High School, to <br />complete an unexpired term ending 9-30-09. <br />Further, John Lewis, who serves in the Juvenile Defense Attorne <br />Y <br />position, has indicated a willingness to serve another term. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to appoint Edie Moss to the JCPC to complete an unexpired term <br />ending 6-30-10 to fill an at-large position; to appoint Fantasia Piedra to to <br />complete an unexpired term ending 9-30-09 to fill a student under 18 <br />position; and reappoint John Lewis (Juvenile Defense Attorney position) <br />fora 2-year term ending 11-30-10. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />1 Minute <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the Board <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: H-4 <br />Item# 21 <br />Page 226 of 253 <br /> <br />
