Watts/Senior Planner <br />Subject: Reservation of Capacity and Capacity Schedule for the Villages at Skybrook North Phase 3 <br />Date: 5/21 /2009 <br />Laureldale, LLC, (6719-C Fairview Road, Charlotte, NC 28210) is requesting a reservation of capacity <br />for the Villages at Skybrook North Phase 3 residential subdivision project, which consists of 33 single <br />family units on +/- 20.73 acres located off Poplar Tent Road in the City of Concord, North Carolina. <br />School Capacity Review <br />The Villages at Skybrook North Phase 3 residential subdivision project is expected to produce <br />approximately 11 elementary students, 5 middle school students and 4 high' schools students for a <br />total of 20 students. The schools impacted by the project are W.R. Odell Elementary School, Harris <br />Road Middle School and Northwest Cabarrus High School. <br />The county's capital improvements plan (CIP) includes the following proposed improvements that <br />would create additional capacity for the schools impacted by the project: <br />Number of Additional Seats listed in CIP <br />Year School 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 <br />Elementary W.R. Odell 800 <br />Middle Harris Road 700 <br />High Northwest Cabarrus 1450 <br />Seat Distribution Summary - (Based on July 2008 Capital Improvements Plan) <br />Elementary -Anew elementary school is scheduled for 2013 in the northwest area of the County. <br />When this new school opens, 800 students will be transferred from W.R. Odell Elementary School to <br />the new elementary school due to redistricting. <br />Middle -Anew middle school is scheduled for 2009 in the northwest/Weddington Road area of the <br />County. When this new middle school opens, 700 students will be transferred from Harris Road <br />Middle School to the new middle school due to redistricting. <br />High -Anew high school is scheduled to open in August 2009 on Cox Mill Road.
