CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA ITEM REQUEST <br />Meeting Date 6/16/08 <br />Agenda Item # C-- ~ 5 <br />SUBJECT: <br />Lower Rocky River Elementary -Resolution Authorizing Condemnation to Acquire Certain <br />Property <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Some time ago, the developers of the Mills Subdivision project agreed to donate a school <br />site to satisfy their Adequate Public Facilities requirements. This subdivision project is now <br />in foreclosure and the only way to acquire the elementary school site is through <br />condenmation. As part of the condemnation process, the County will be required to file a <br />$1.5 million deposit with the Clerk of Court based on the Integra August 2007 appraisal of <br />$70,000 per acre. Further, the Cabarrus Co.
