MEMORANDUM <br />To: Cabazrus County Boatd of Commissionets <br />From: Kassie Goodson Watts/Plannex <br />Subject: Consent Agreement and School Capacity Information for Meridian Subdivision <br />Date: 5/31/2007 <br />The Meridian subdivision was approved by the Concoxd Planning and Zoning Board on Octobez 19, <br />2004 and was gtanted a 2 year pzeliminary plat extension on January 17, 2006. The project consists <br />on 16 single family lots on +/-8.90 aczes located on Robexta Road. The specifics of the agxeement <br />ate as follows: <br />Developer -Roberta Road, LLC, 166 Fem Haven Lane, Mooxesville, NC 28117 <br />Payment of $4034 per lot will be due at Final Platting <br />Build out schedule would be 161ots platted in 2007. <br />The APFO woxksheet filled out by l~. Robert HIuttz with Cabazrus County Schools indicates that <br />schools impacted by the Meridian Subdivision aze curxently functioning at the following capacities: <br />Pitts School Road Elementary School - 82.04% <br />J.N. Fries Middle School - 103.38% <br />Jay M. Robinson High School - 114.64% <br />Including previously approved subdivisions, these schools will be Cunctioning at the following <br />capacity upon completion of the Meridian Subdivision project: <br />Pitts School Road Elementary School -10G.48% <br />J.N. Fries Middle School - 119.26% <br />Jay M. Robinson High School - 11397% <br />The Hickory Ridge High School, pzojected to open in August 2007, will provide relief for Jay M. <br />Robinson High School. Funding fox this school was appzoved in the 2004 School Bond. <br />The 15 Yeaz Facility Plan includes a new high school on Cox tVlill Road in 2009 that will provide <br />some relief at Jay M. Robinson and a middle school xenovation at J.N. Fries Middle School in 2010 <br />that would provide xelief. Funding fox this zenovarion has not been identified. Potrnrial relief at Pitts <br />School Road Elementary School would be beyond the cuxrent five yeat pxoject list. <br />Addirional capital funding is needed fot the construcrion of the new high school on Cox Mill Road <br />and the xenovarion pxoject at J.N. Fries. Land and construction costs will need to be acquired for an <br />elementary school to pzovide relief Eox Wolf Meadow and Pitts School Road. <br />Cabarrus County Schools operating at 110% capacity are considexed to be opexating at the maarimum <br />capaciry. <br />The Subdivision Lot Inventory has been updated thtough June of 2007. <br />G -~ <br />
