<br />Contract year cost of in jail treatment and associated costs per inmate, per commitment shall be <br />limited to $5000.00 per inmate. <br /> <br />Bid Price $298,800.00 +/- Per diem cost over/under 142 ADP @ 1.70 per inmate per <br />month. <br /> <br />Monthly = $24,900.00 Per Day = $818.63 <br /> <br />March 2000 ADP was 150 which would add 8 X $1.70 X 31 = $421.60 <br /> <br />Liability Coverage <br /> <br />Under the Cabarrus County Jail inmate healthcare contract with Southern Health Partners, Inc., <br />they are responsible and assume assume liability for inmate care as relates to medical issues.. <br />They maintain Medical Professional Liability insurance with limits of$l,OOO,OOO.OO per medical <br />incident and $3,000,000.00 in annual aggregate. The Cabarrus County Sheriff and/or Cabarrus <br />County are not to be named as additional insured under the policy. <br /> <br />Under the contract Southern Health Partners, Inc. would maintain General Liability insurance for <br />bodily injury and property damage with limits of $3,000,000.00 per occurrence and <br />$3,000,000.00 in annual aggregate. The Cabarrus County Sheriff and Cabarrus County would be <br />named as additional insured under the policy. <br /> <br />Current Bud2:et information with Southern Health Partners. Inc. <br /> <br />Contract Service <br />2130-9653 Medical Consultants Budget $410,688.00 base cost. (Originally-in 2000, the base <br />price was set to cover 142 inmates; it has since been reset @ 200 inmates. So, when the average <br />daily population-ADP exceeds 200 for the month, we pay $1.70 per inmate per day extra; and the <br />same amount is returned to the county per inmate if the ADP is less than 200.) <br /> <br />Medical Treatments <br />2130-9654 This budget was originally set at $70,000.00 (Commissioner Carpenter trimmed <br />this down to $20,000). This was built in to provide budgeted funds to cover costs associated <br />with inpatient hospital care for inmate treatments over the limits of liability for Southern Health <br />Partners. (SHP has a pool established @ $70,000 a year for inpatient hospital medical expenses. <br />If this pool runs out, the county is responsible for 100% of the bill beyond that $70,000 for the <br />year. Again, this amount was originally set based on 142 inmates-and $70,000 has been enough <br />up to this point---as a matter of fact, SHP retains any leftover funds in this pool and they have <br />made money each year.) <br /> <br />T-IZ <br />
