MEMO

JCABARRUSCOUN~]
NORTH CAROLINA

TO:

FROM:

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Cabarms County Board of Commissioners

A1 Berkeyheiser, Advisory Board Chairperson

November 18, 2002

DEPARTMENT OF AGING ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS

The Cabarrus County Department of Aging Advisory Board has five members that are
serving a term that expires on December 31, 2002. They are A1 Berkeyheiser, Betty
6armon, Annie Louise Hoover, Jack Moore and Linda McDonald. All of these members
are eligible for reappointment, except for me. I was appointed in January 1997 and have
served two terms. However, due to the commitment of the other members, I respectfully
request that all four of these be re-appointed to serve an additional term. Each of these
members have been active members of our Advisory Board and have a good
understanding of the Department of Aging services. Furthermore, I recommend that
Scott Barringer be considered as a replacement for me on this Advisory Board.

These recommendations are submitted on behalf of the Cabarms County Department of
Aging Advisory Board. They are the results of a proposal by our Nominating Committee
that received unanimous support from the full Advisory Board membership during our
regular meeting on November 18, 2002. Please accept this recommendation for your
consideration as you address our Advisory Board vacancies. Thank you for your time
and consideration. Your support of the Department of Aging is sincerely appreciated.

Department of Aging

P.O.
