• CPFT = Child Protection & Fatality Team <br />• In Cabarrus County, it has made sense to combine <br />both teams. Thus, we combined with the goal of <br />becoming one of the top CPFTs in the state. <br />• A focus is on examining the deaths of children in the <br />county during the previous calendar year. <br />• We discuss each case and ponder ways that the deaths <br />could have been prevented and look at issues county <br />wide that lead to better protection of our children. <br />• We are mandated by G.S. 7B 1407 <br />• An interdisciplinary group of community <br />representatives who meet regularly to promote a <br />community -wide approach to the problem of child <br />abuse and neglect. <br />Page 43 <br />
