Memo <br />To: Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />From: Susie Morris, AICP, CZO, Planning and Zoning Manager <br />CC: File <br />Date: 9/15/2016 <br />Re: Proposed Text Amendment to Zoning Ordinance (TEXT2016- 00002) <br />• Staff is proposing that the Zoning Ordinance, the Subdivision Ordinance and the Flood <br />Damage Prevention Ordinance be located in one central document. <br />• The staff, the Text Amendment Committee and the Planning and Zoning Commission have <br />considered names and recommend that the name of the new document be The Cabarrus <br />County Development Ordinance. <br />o The current chapters of the zoning ordinance will remain as well as the applicable <br />appendices. <br />o The Subdivision Ordinance will be added as Chapter 15. <br />o The Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance will be added as Chapter 16. <br />• The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on June 14, 2016, to forward the <br />proposed amendments to the Board of Commissioners for final consideration. <br />• The Board of Commissioners will need to hold a public hearing on the proposed change. <br />1 <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />G -4 Page 194 <br />
