CABARRUS COUNTY <br />A <br />* <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 17, 2016 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning and Development — Proposed Amendment (TEXT2016- 00001) — <br />Public Hearing 6:30 P.M. <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Attached you will find a draft of the North Carolina Flood Damage <br />Prevention Ordinance with applicable Cabarrus County information <br />incorporated. This document has been reviewed by the NC Department of <br />Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, and Risk <br />Management. It was approved to move forward on May 4, 2016. Staff is <br />proposing that this language be removed from the County Code of <br />Ordinances and moved to the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance so that <br />development standards are located in one place for citizens and <br />developers seeking development information. <br />The Board of Commissioners will need to hold a public hearing on the <br />proposed changes. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Receive Staff Report. <br />Hold Public Hearing. <br />Motion to Consider Approval of TEXT2016- 00001, Remove Flood <br />Damage Prevention Ordinance from County Code of Ordinances and <br />Move to Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance as New Chapter 16. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />G -4 Page 195 <br />
