• Imitative traffic si ns <br />No sign shall be illuminated, constructed, or displayed in any manner which <br />simulates official traffic or public notice signs or signals. <br />• Restrictions on direct illumination, banners, streamers, etc. <br />No source of illumination on a sign, such as floodlights, spotlights, unshielded <br />bulbs, etc., shall be directly visible from any public right -of -way, from any <br />residential district or from adjacent premises. <br />• Prohibited locations for si ns <br />Except where specifically permitted by this Ordinance, signage, inclusive of the <br />supports, frames and embellishments thereto, shall not be located within the public <br />right -of -way, or sight preservation triangle as defined in this Ordinance. No sign <br />shall be attached, affixed or painted upon any utility poles, any tree, rock or other <br />neutral object. No sign shall be permitted on the side street frontage of a corner <br />lot, if such sign is located within one hundred (100) feet of a residential district. <br />• Maintenance of si ns <br />All signage in Cabarrus County is to be kept in good, presentable condition. <br />Paint is to be intact, neither peeling nor faded. Signs are also to be kept <br />structurally sound capable of standing erect or remaining securely attached. <br />• Permit required <br />It is unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, or relocate a sign <br />within Cabarrus County thereon without having first obtained a permit from the <br />Zoning Administrator. <br />• Inspection <br />Every sign erected in Cabarrus County shall be subject to the inspection of the <br />Zoning Administrator/ Inspector to assure compliance with the provisions of this <br />Ordinance. Signage with electrical wiring is to be inspected and approved prior to <br />connection to the power source. <br />• Illegal signs <br />Any sign erected in violation of the provisions of this Ordinance is an illegal <br />sign and shall be removed. <br />• Failure to comply <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />G -4 Page 252 <br />
