APPEN DIX D - EMAI LED COMMENTS
- My family is very excited about park coming to our area in Midland. During
the Spring, Summer, Fall months we would spend a great deal of time there
as a family. Picnics and walks would be a regular thing far us there vs going
up to Frank Lisk or Village Park in Kannapolis. ;
- Dog park;
- I live in the southernmost part of the rounty and don't know where any such
FACILITIES ARE LOCATED;
- A challenging mt bike trail would be an excellent component of this park.
Cabarrus and Rowan counties are the only local counties that have no
decent public mountain bike facility. If possible, it would be nine if this one
were longer;
- The Midland Area needs a fully functional Public Park far use by the entire
family. Walking/Hiking trails, ball fields of various uses, children's
playground, tennis courts, picnic areas and open/nature areas would be a
great start. Swimming area, miniature golf and skate board areas could be
added later if the interest deemed it would be used on a frequent basis;
- I believe that residents in this end of the county would enjoy and utilize a
swimming pool on a daily basis during the late spring thru early fall months.
It would be so nice to have a pool available without having to travel to
Kannapolis, Camp Spencer or Morrow Ntnt. State park;
- It is very important that this park be linked to other areas of the county, but
especially to other areas in lvtidland, by walking and biking trails or routes
that are safe for riders and walkers. I would like to be able to bike SAFELY to
thr. park from my home off Sam Black Road on the north side or 24/27. I
think that allowing private camping vehicles would be a bad idea and would
make the park less attractive, increase traffic within the park, cause much
more noise day and night)and make the park much harder to maintain. I
think the cabins are a very nice idea;
- Dog Park, Dog Park, Dog Park. I drive to Charlotte weekly so my dogs have
a place to run off leash. Please put dog parks at more parks;
- if it is a free park build all maintenance free attractions. don't build a park to
compete w/ dan nicholas where you need tax revenue to maintain it. our
taxes are high enough without more burden put on property tax owners. just
because the land was free does not mean you have to spend money to give
people an enjoyable experience outside. there are plenty of places to camp
and if you allow people to fish there will be no fish in a year;
- We would welcome a park in our part of the county, southeast;
,ssl ~L71~C1<SON
community inROSlruclure consultonls
G-1 Page 274
