In addition, we anticipate making 40 <br />sets of 4 grout and 40 sets of 3 mortar cube samples for compressive strength testing. <br />5. Precast Concrete & Structural Steel Connections <br />During precast and structwal steel erection, our field personnel will observe and perform non-destructive ,. <br />testing (NAT) field welds and high-strength bolted connections according to the project specifications. <br />Based on ow understanding of the project, we estimate that a total of 89 working days will be required to <br />complete observations of precast and structural steel connections. If the fabrication plants are not <br />certified by PCI (Precast Concrete Institute) and AISC (American Instiwte for Steel Construction), <br />Trigon can perform site visits to these plants in accordance with the project specifications for an <br />additional fee. <br />6. Spray'Applied Fireproofing <br />During fireproofmg installation, ow personnel will observe and test for thickness, density, and bond <br />strength of the fireproofmg material. Based on our understanding of the project, we estimate that a total <br />of 12 working days will be required to complete observations and testing of spray applied fireproofing. <br />7. Project Administration & Reporting <br />Tn addition to our quality assurance project team of qualified field technicians and special inspectors, the <br />project team also includes an experiegced project manager. The administrative functions of the project <br />manager wilt include scheduling, review of field and laboratory data, and communication with project <br />personnel. A registered engineer from this firm assigned to the project will review their work. The <br />results of the field-testing will be summarized in a field report presented to the field superintendent on a <br />daily basis and mailed to the applicable project personnel. Unusual occurrences and deviations to the <br />project documents will be communicated to the immediate attention of the Owner, Architect, Structural <br />Engineer, and Contractor as required. <br />ESTIMATED COST <br />We recommend a budget allowazice of $238,400 be included in the project costs for our services described <br />herein. This budget is based on providing field staff working up to 40 hows per week, Monday through <br />Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Please note that Phis estimate does not constitute a lump <br />sum, guaranteed cost, or not to exceed bid for our services. If the actual testing quantities and schedule <br />exceed the quantities and schedule outlined in Phis proposal, the additional services that we are requested to <br />provide will be invoiced at the rates indicated on the attached unit fee schedule. It should be noted that our <br />fteld-testing and engineering services will be invoiced portal to portal from our Charlotte office. <br />Ow estimated budget allowance does not include costs for re-testing or re-inspecting corrected deficiencies. <br />Re-tests and re-inspections services will be invoiced at the rates indicated on the attached unit fee schedule. <br />If requested, we will keep sepazate ow costs to re-test or re-inspect corrected deficiencies. <br />The purpose of our services is to test the materials being used by the wntractor and to give the owner <br />assurances that the materials used by the contractor conform to the materials specified in the project <br />documents. The results of our testing are only indicative of the material characteristics at the location <br />and elevation for which the tests ate performed.
