Human Resources <br />Cabarrus County <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />To: <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />CC: <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Frank Clifton, County Manager <br /> <br />Don Cummings, HR Director~___~ <br /> <br />John Day, Deputy County Manager <br /> <br />March 12, 2d02 <br /> <br />Reorganization Proposal <br /> <br />The following information contains the changes necessary to facilitate the creation of the <br />Public Safety Services Department; the realignment of Development Services, Planning <br />Services, and Emergency Medical Services departments; and relocation of the County <br />Weatherization Program. <br /> <br />The result of the changes is an annual County cost savings of $31,598 and a reduction <br />of two positions. <br /> <br />· The attached chart summarizes the specific changes that follow.. <br /> <br />Development Services Department becomes PublicSafety Services Department. <br />Planning Services Department becomes the Planning and Zoning Department. <br /> <br />Development Services Director, Grade 79, is reclassified to Public Safety Director, <br />Grade 81. <br /> <br />Emergency Medical Services Department becomes a part of Public Safety Services. <br />· The Assistant EMS Director position is abolished and Shift Supervisor, Grade 70, <br />and Relief Supervisor, Grade 68, positions (3 + 3) are reclassified with one grade <br />increases for increased duties and responsibilities. <br /> <br />4. Emergency Management Services positions (3) move to Public Safety Services. <br /> <br />5. Fire Inspection and Safety related positions (2) move from Building Inspections to <br /> Public Safety Services. <br /> <br /> <br />
