Resolution No. 2002 <br /> <br /> CABARRus COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance <br />Abuse Authority was established by the Boards of Conunissioners of Cabarms, Stanly and Union <br />Counties in 1974; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1997 Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and <br />Substance Abuse Authority was expanded to include Rowan County by action of the Board of <br />Commissioners in Caban'us, Rowan, Stanly and Union Counties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance <br />Abuse Authority continues to well serve the citizens of Cabarms County; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Cabarms County believes that mental <br />health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services should continue to be provided <br />for the citizens of Cabarrus County through Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental <br />Disabilities and Substance Abuse Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to amendments of North Carolina General Statutes Chapter 122C <br />set forth in 2001 Session Laws, Chapter 437, it is incumbent upon the Board of Commissioners <br />of Cabarms County to advise the North Carolina Secretary of Health and Human Services that it <br />is the intent of the Board of Commissioners of Cabarms County to ,continue to provide mental <br />health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services through Piedmont Area Mental <br />Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Authority. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD <br />COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />OF <br /> <br />It is the intent of the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County to continue to provide <br />mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services through Piedmont <br />Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse AuthoritY. <br /> <br />The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners shall send a letter to the North Carolina <br />Secretary of Health and Human Services stating this intent. <br /> <br />This the 17th day 0f June, 2002. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Robert M.
