June 17, 2002 <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />The Honorable Carmen Hooker-Odom <br />Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services <br />Adams Building, 101 Blair Drive <br />Raleigh, North Carolina 27626-0526 <br /> <br />Dear Secretary Hooker-Odom: <br /> <br />This letter is to indicate Cabarrus County's intent to continue with Piedmont Area Mental <br />Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Authority as our Area Program (LME). <br />This letter of intent is written to comply with the requirements of the MH/DD/SA State Plan <br />(Chapter 4 - page 44 - Task 103 and Page 28 - Objective 8.9 - under "Implementation Time <br />Lines") and 2001 Session Law, Chapter 437, section 3. (a)(8). <br /> <br />The Cabarms County Board of Commissioners understands that this letter commits the County <br />to retaining Piedmont Area Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse <br />Authority as its Area Program for three years after which time the County may elect to change or <br />retain Piedmont according to the requirements of General Statutes Chapter 122C. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />Robert M.
