~ORT8 CABOLINA <br /> <br />Ordinance No. <br /> <br />2002- <br /> <br />AN ORDiNANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14 'OF THE CODE OF ORDiNANCES OF <br />THE. CABARRUS COUNTY ENTITLED BUILDINGS AND BUILDING <br />REGULATIONS <br /> <br />An ordinance to adopt the North Carolina Rehabilitation Code by reference as part of <br />Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of Cabarms County. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina General Assembly, pursuant to Session Law 2001-372, <br />adopted the North Carolina Rehabilitation Code (NCRC); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the inteni of the NCRC is to provide a uniform statewide, harmonious <br />system of rehabilitation regulations applicable to existing buildings within the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the NCRC is only available for use in those jurisdictions, including <br />Cabarms County, which have been granted local plan review authority; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the enabling legislation adopting the NCRC requires qualifying local <br />.jurisdictions to adopt the NCRC by ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it ·would be in .the best interest of the citizens of Cabarrus County to adopt <br />the NCRC as an alternative means of rehabilitating existing buildings. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />CABARRUS COUNTY "THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br />'CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA, IS HERBY AMENDED BY ADDING <br />A SECTION, TO BE NUMBERED 14-33, WHICH SECTION READS AS <br />FOLLOWS~. <br /> <br />Section 14-33 <br /> <br />North Carolina Rehabilitation Code Adopted <br /> <br />(A) The North Carolina RehabilitatiOn Code as enacted by the <br />North Carolina General Assembly and as modified by supplements <br />covering amendments thereto, is hereby adopted by reference as <br /> <br />· P.O.
