Box 707 <br />Concord, NC 28026-0707 <br /> <br />Dear Susie: <br /> <br />We would like to respond to your memo to the Board of Commissioners dated March 13, 2000. <br /> <br />Some counties do have a policy requiring that appointees serve no more than six consecutive <br />years on any board, and we request that those counties make an exception to the policy for CDC <br />appointments. Because of the technical nature of the work we do, it does require time for new <br />directors to learn to be effective. Our most dedicated and productive directors have served on <br />our Board for thirteen to seventeen years, and we certainly want to keep them for as long as they <br />are willing to actively participate and serve with the CDC. <br /> <br />Messrs. Jones and Durham are two such dedicated and productive directors. Please convey our <br />respectful request to your Board of Commissioners that they waive the six-year policy in this <br />case and reappoint Branson Jones and Eddie Durham to Centralina Development Corporation, <br />Inc.'s membership.
