REVISED <br /> <br /> Ordinance 1998-01 <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CABARRUS COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />CHAPTER 10 <br /> ANIMALS <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED that Section 10-3 and Section 10-58 of the Code of Ordinances, Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 10-3. Penalty for Violation of Chapter <br /> <br />Any person violating the provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and <br />punished in accordance with section 1-7. <br /> <br />Section 10-58. Adoptions; Spay/Neuter. <br /> <br />Appropriate animals that come into the custody of the Animal Control Division will be offered for <br />adoption. Persons wishing to adopt an animal fi.om the shelter shall pay a fee in the amount of $65.00 <br />for dogs and $35.00 for cats which shall be used to offset the cost of the adoption program and <br />veterinarian services related to the adoption of the animals. <br /> <br />Persons adopting an animal from the shelter shall be encouraged to have the animal spayed or <br />neutered. <br /> <br />Adoptable animals that are not chosen for adoption within the time limits established by the Animal <br />Control Division may be adopted by the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County <br />without payment of the adoption fee. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 20th day of January, 1998. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Sue B.
