1. ESC will be the primary deliverer of job placement services in the <br /> Work First Program. <br />2. Those individuals seeking to apply or reapply for WFFA and are not <br /> exempt from work requirements shall register with the 1 ~t Stop <br /> Employment Assistance Program. <br />3. It will be located primarily at DSS, with the back-up at ESC, in the <br /> event the potential applicant happens to be at ESC. <br />4. Individuals who are not exempt must present verification of 1~t Stop <br /> registration at the time they apply for WFFA. Unless exempt, they will <br /> not be approved for WFFA without this verification. <br /> <br />b. Current Contract With ESC: Currently, we are contracting with ESC <br />for two staffpersons, a counselor and an interviewer, who are located in the <br />Employment Unit at DSS. They are connected to the state ESC system. <br />They presently see all active Employment Services clients, as well as Intakes, <br />and Absent Parent Program clients. <br /> <br />D. Community Service Program: The Community Service Program will be <br /> used to provide work activities for those participants unable to obtain full- <br /> time employment. If they have barriers that prevent them from securing a <br /> job or if they are working part-time only, this program will benefit them. <br /> In addition to public and private non-profit agencies, the WOW program <br /> allows us to expand our program into the private for profit sector. This <br /> can include daycare centers, and nursing and rest homes. Community <br /> Service sites w~ presently have are as follows: <br /> 1. Cabarrus County Department of Social Services <br /> 2. Cannon YMCA Senior Center <br /> 3. Crisis Distribution Center <br /> 4. Head Start <br /> 5. NC Soil and Water Conservation <br /> 6. Habitat for Humanity <br /> 7. Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store <br /> 8. City of Concord Water Resources <br /> 9. Cabarrus Boys and Girls Club <br /> 10. Cabarms/Concord Landfill <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br /> <br />
