Truman <br /> <br /> The Recreation Division is made up of the athletics, <br />special populations, special events, and special programs <br />areas. Activities provided offer participants an opportunity <br />to develop interests in new directions and improve skills in <br />favorite pastimes. Involvement in these programs can help <br />enrich the quality of life through education, relaxation, and <br />enjoyment. <br /> <br />Special Programs/Publicity and Marl~eting Division <br /> The Special Programs Division is divided into two see- <br />tions: The Classes and Workshop section is responsible for <br />researching and surveying the community for programming <br />needs, and developing and implementing a variety of ac- <br />tive and passive recreational activities; inslructional classes <br />and workshops; summer arts, magic, and computer camps; <br />Sum-More Fun Day Camp; and special programs for per- <br />sons of all ages and abilities. The Division works in coop- <br />eration with the Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City <br />Schools, local churches and agencies to utilize existing fa- <br />cilities and resources. <br /> <br /> The Publicity and Marketing section works in conjunc- <br />tion with all divisions of the Parks and Recreation Depart- <br />ment -- developing and implementing promotions, adver- <br />tising, and marketing campaigns for all programs and poli- <br />cies. This section is also responsible for coordination with <br />other local recreation providers for the development and <br />distribution of a quarterly program brochure through the <br />Cabarrus Neighbors' Fun Book and the Independent <br />Tribune's Good Times. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
