Pleasant Recreation Soccer

May, 1996

Terry Jones and the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Soccer Association have
undertaken, the task of lighting the soccer field at Mt. Pleasant Middle
School to g~ve the southern part of Cabarrus County another full sized field
for extended practice and play during soccer season in the Fail. They have
raised on their own the following:

They have purchased 90% of the Material Costs, including
$2500 toward the cost of the lights ($4028).

They are providing 100% of the Iai:mr.

But, in order to make this project a reality they need to have the county,
through its reciprocal agreem.e, nt with the city of Concord, prov. idea truck to
set the poles in place. The City has already agreed to provide the truck, if
we will agree to insure it under our policy during the 4 to 8 hours required
and pay fo[the operator at $35.00 per hour. In addition, they could possibly
use an additional 1500 feet of ~3 copper wire. '

Since this board of county commissioners is interested in developing and
improving ball fields for youth recreation throughout our county, we should
pass the following motion:

"Be it resolved that the Cabarrus County Commission agrees to assist
the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Soccer Association in lighting the .soccer
field at Mt, Pleasant Middle School.by insudng a truck through the city
of Concord Public Utilities and paying for an operator for a cost not to
exceed $280, and purchasing 1500 feet of 4~3 copper widng at a cost
not to exceed $359, plus tax to use in the project."
