(C) The Department shall be responsible for the erection, installation, <br />alteration, and maintenance of all traffic control devices necessary for the purpose of <br />regulating, warning, or guiding traffic on the above-captioned project. The erection, <br />installation, alteration, and maintenance shall be in accordance with the North Carolina <br />General Statutes. All traffic control devices on the above-captioned project shall be in <br />substantial conformance with the specifications set forth in the 1988 edition of the <br />Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, or a subsequent <br />revision of the same, published by the Federal Highway Administration. Stop signs or <br />yield signs shall be erected, altered, or retained on all streets not under traffic signal <br />control intersecting or having contact with the above-captioned project. <br /> <br /> (D) Speed limit regulations shall be established in accordance with the <br />criteria set forth in the General Statutes of North Carolina. <br /> <br /> CE) All reconstruction and future entrances from the above-captioned <br />project to abutting commercial property shall be designed and constructed in accordance <br />with the "Policy on Street and Driveway Access to North Carolina Highways" dated <br />January 9, 1987, or a subsequent revision thereof, or in accordance with other acceptable <br />criteria which may be approved by the Department. <br /> <br /> (F) The County shall enforce at all times the traffic operating controls <br />set forth in this Agreement. <br /> <br /> 9. The County will construct the project in accordance with the plans and <br /> <br />specifications adopted therefor, or as altered or amended by the Department. The <br />Department shall have the right to abandon the project at any time prior to the time the <br />bids for the construction of the project submitted to the Department by the County have <br />been approved by the Department. <br /> <br /> 10. Upon completion of the project, said roadway will be added to the State <br />Highway System and shall be owned, maintained and controlled by the Department. <br /> <br />-9- <br /> <br /> <br />
