abarrus County
heriff's Department
Robert M. Canaday, Sheriff

Lieutenant David L. Lambert

Lieutenant Lambert began his career with the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department
on September 1, 1972.

During his career with the department Lieutenant Lambert worked in the
communications, patrol, and hospital divisions.

He served as a patrol division Sergeant and Lieutenant prior to his assignment to his
most recent position as the Lieutenant in charge of the Hospital Division where he is
currently assisting the hospital through the transition to an in-house director of security.

Lieutenant Lambert attained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Central
Piedmont Community College in 1975 while working with the department and has
completed over 500 hours of specialized training in law enforcement related subjects.

Having had the pleasure of training Lieutenant Lambert during his first year with the
Sheriff's Department I can personally attest to certain qualities he possesses that have
made him an outstanding officer and leader with the department. Those qualities include
loyalty, dedication to service and a quiet unassuming nature coupled with the ability to
quickly assess situations and react responsibly without over reacting. His maturity has
proven to be a steadfast example to all who have worked with and for him.

He has contributed much to the department and has served the citizens of Cabarrus
County extremely well during his time with the department. We will miss his leadership.

I, along with all the members of the department wish him well in the coming years as he
enjoys the quieter less stressful life ahead of him.

P.O.
