MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />ICABARRUSCOUN~I <br /> <br />~ORIH CAROLINA <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Michael Downs/Zoning Administrator <br />Jonathan Marshall/Senior Planner4'~t~ <br /> <br />DATE: August 14, 1996 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: New Animal Shelter and General Services Buildings <br /> <br />We have reviewed six proposals to provide architectural/engineering services for the <br />design and construction of a new animal shelter and general services building. The <br />proposals were reviewed based upon the following criteria: <br /> <br />1. Ability to design and oversee construction on both facilities <br />simultaneously. <br /> <br />2. General experience with the types of buildings being constructed. <br /> <br />3. Experience with bid procedures for public buildings in North <br />Carolina. <br /> <br />4. Ability to properly oversee the construction of these projects. <br /> <br />5. Overall proposal including experience of the firm and associated <br />engineering firms. <br /> <br />The six firms making proposals included Knapp-Schmidt-Baptista Architects, <br />Overcash-Demmitt Architects, James F. Morton, Brice-Mords Architects, Milligan <br />Architecture, and Carlos Moore Architect. <br /> <br />Based on the review criteria we are recommending that the County employ <br />Overcash-Demmitt Architects to proceed with the project.
