The underlying property is
owned by Unica U.B.O. and is designated by Cabarrus County pin number 46816474280000 .
The property is currently zoned in the LDR zoning district of Cabarrus County. Verizon Wireless
desperately needs this location in order to provide adequate voice and advanced data coverage
to the surrounding area. We have taken the liberty of recasting the relevant sections of the
Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance regarding wireless communication towers and antennas
below with our response to the relevant section in bold:
Section 5 Aesthetics
a. Towers shall either maintain a galvanized steel finish or be painted a neutral color so
as to reduce visual obtrusiveness.
The proposed monopole-style wireless communications facility will have a
galvanized steel finish, which quickly weathers to a dull gray patina and will be
non-reflective and emit no glare, as shown on Sheet C-6 of the site plans and
drawings, attached hereto as Exhibit "1" and incorporated herein by reference.
b. The design of the buildings and related structures shall, to the extent possible, use
materials , colors, textures, screening, and landscaping that will blend them into
the natural setting and surrounding buildings located adjacent to the tower or
