The Chairperson, with approval of the Advisory Council, shall notify the <br />appointing body and the Advisory Council member of the decision to <br />remove any member due to excessive absences. <br />Section 4. Any member may resign from the Advisory Council by <br />submitting a written resignation to the Chairperson of the Advisory <br />Council. <br />Section 5. The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners shall <br />appoint a replacement to fill all un- expired terms related to vacant <br />Advisory Council positions. <br />Article VI. Section 1. The elected officers of the Advisory Council shall be the <br />Chairperson and Vice - Chairperson. Officers shall be elected annually by <br />a majority vote of the Advisory Council members at the regular meeting in <br />November. The newly elected officers shall assume their duties upon <br />completion of the December meeting. <br />Section 2. The Chairperson of the Advisory Council shall preside at <br />the meetings of the Council. <br />1. The Chairperson assures that all standing committees have a <br />chairperson. <br />2. The Chairperson shall prepare the agenda for all regular meetings, <br />in consultation with the Program Manager of the Senior Centers. <br />Section 3. The Vice - Chairperson shall preside in the absence of the <br />Chairperson and perform such duties as are assigned by the Chairperson. <br />Should the office of Chairperson be vacated before the term has expired, <br />the Vice - Chairperson shall fill the un- expired term of office and a new <br />Vice - Chairperson shall be elected by the Advisory Council. Should the <br />Office of Vice - Chairperson be vacated before the term has expired, a new <br />Vice - Chairperson shall be elected by the Advisory Council. <br />Section 4. The staff shall be responsible for all records, minutes of all <br />meetings, and notification of regular and special meetings. <br />Article VII. Section 1. The Executive Committee shall consist of the Chairperson, <br />Vice - Chairperson, Superintendent, Program Manager of the Senior <br />Centers and two (2) members of the Advisory Council appointed by the <br />Chairperson. The Executive Committee may be called into session to <br />meet the needs of the Advisory Council between regular meetings. <br />Section 2. Meetings of the Executive Committee may be called at the <br />discretion of the Chairperson of the Advisory Council, a majority of the <br />Executive Committee of the Advisory Council membership, or the <br />Cabarrus County Program Manager of the Senior Centers. <br />3 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />H -3 Page 248 <br />
