• Cabarrus County Child Support is exceeding all 9 categories in federal Self- Assessment <br />case management goals. <br />• Cabarrus County Child Support was recognized in September by the state with three <br />performance awards, including the only county to achieve all federal incentive goals and <br />self- assessment goals. The state has chosen Cabarrus County as a site for a General <br />Assembly study based on this performance achievement. <br />III. Child Welfare <br />Key Statistics: <br />• Number of CPS reports received (July- September): 342 <br />• Number of CPS reports accepted (July- September): 301 <br />• Number of Cases within In Home Services as of September 30, 2013: 92 <br />• Number of children in foster care custody as of September 30, 2013: 85 <br />• Number of petitions filed for custody from July- September 2013: 3 (7 children total) <br />• Number of foster children moved to permanence from July- September 2013: 2 <br />Critical Trends: <br />• The number of CPS reports received returned to a more normal range after a high range <br />during the last quarter. <br />• The IV -E audit was conducted and showed overall strong compliance. The audit has <br />facilitated the department to reassess how IV -E eligibility is determined and ensure <br />current training is in place for workers performing this function. <br />• Regional Training regarding medical models for foster children was provided and hosted <br />by the county. <br />• The new legal team has started and services are running effectively within the area. <br />Continued partnering is occurring with the Guardian Ad Litem to ensure strong <br />collaboration in achieving permanence for children in foster care. <br />IV. Adult and Aging Services <br />Key Statistics: <br />• 83 reports of adult abuse /neglect /exploitation received from July- September 2013 <br />• 1,076 inquiries for service phone calls <br />• 956 requests for Crisis Financial Assistance (General Assistance) with 149 receiving <br />approval <br />3 <br />Attachment number 1 <br />1 -5 Page 229 <br />
