<br /> <br /> <br />ur{~an design planning civil engineering branding landscape architecture <br />' AGREEMENT FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br />' LAND USE PLAN FOR THE HARRISBURG PLANNING AREA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY, NC <br />' LandDesign PN: 1008319 <br />This agreement made this day of , 2009, by and between Cabarrus County <br />hereinafter referred to as "Client", and LandDesign, Inc., hereinafter referred to as "Consultant", <br />' for the provision of area planning services for Cabarrus County, NC. <br />Now, therefore, the Client and Consultant agree as follows: <br />' SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />The scope identified here provides for the full range of planning services to facilitate the creation <br />and completion of a master plan for the Harrisburg Planning Area located in Cabarrus County, <br />' NC. The steps involved include inventory, analysis, and synthesis of information pertaining to a <br />variety of planning elements; meeting with County representatives and others involved in the <br />planning process; facilitation of a series of public meetings; preparation of alternative plans for <br />review by the County; and, based on this collective information and input, preparation and <br />' finalization of the Plan. Services will include providing all necessary coordination with the Client <br />throughout the planning process. <br />PHASE 1: INVENTORY AND ANALYSIS <br />' A. Study Area Visit and Kick-off Meeting /Potential Advisory Committee Meeting <br />The Consultant will conduct ahalf-day study area visit to further our understanding of <br />' the existing conditions and verify data reflected in the draft maps. This visit will be <br />scheduled to take place the day of the kick-off meeting with the Client (and the Advisory <br />Committee, if one has already been assembled) during which the following will be <br />discussed: contract details/scope, project schedule, Advisory Committee (AC) <br />' membership (if one has not already been assembled), stakeholders and project <br />information collected to date. Study area boundaries will also be finalized at this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />B. Education Session <br />The Consultant will lead an educational session to which elected and appointed officials <br />will be invited. The primary purpose of the session is to review in detail the principles of <br />sustainability and sound planning, and to answer questions about best practices.
