10. Prepaze materials for prospect requests for municipai and county <br />officials as needed. <br />11. Make presentations to prospects when they visit Cabanvs County. <br />12. Make joint existing industry calls and coordinate with County and <br />State programs with similar objectives as it relates to Cabarrus <br />County businesses. <br />13. Provide monthly written program updates to Cabarrus County and <br />municipal staffs and elected officials. <br />14. Participate in events sponsored by the Charlotte Regional Partnership, <br />North Carolina DeparUnent oF Commerce and other regional <br />economic groups. Expand intemational trade by participating in <br />foreign trade missions or call trips and educationaUinformational <br />conferences related to intemational hade. <br />15. Participation with and support of organizations that are tied to <br />Cabarrus County or our targeted industries and have an economic <br />development presence in the County, such as the North Carolina <br />Motorsports Association. <br />16. Make a presentation to North Carolina Department of Commerce staff <br />at least annually updating and highlighring events and development <br />opportuniries in the Cabarrus County. <br />17. Develop and maintain relationships with individual NC Department of <br />Commerce economic development representatives to hear their <br />perspectives and recommendations; discuss projects they are <br />working and how the County may fit their prospects' needs. <br />18. Develop and maintain relationships with other economic development <br />allies such as businesses that are financially contributing to the <br />EDC, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Concord Downtown <br />Development Corporation and others who benefit from economic <br />development activities. <br />19. Coordinate with Chamber of Commerce and local education and <br />training institutions in the azea of Workforce Development and <br />provide information from local businesses about the supply and <br />quality of available labor and specific needs for improvement. <br />20. Respond to referrals from participating local govemments. <br />21. Develop a comprehensive economic development plan that <br />specifically describes the requirements and strategies necessary for <br />achieving the most successful economic development program <br />possible. Such a plan was developed by the firm of Leak-Goforth <br />and completed during the fall of 2005. <br />For FY 2008, the County will reimburse the EDC for the costs of providing services at a level <br />substantially similar to those provided by the EDC in FY 2007, up to $36,500 per month. <br />Cabarrua C.aune PY 'u0S - I'npc ) <br />~~'~ <br />
