will not pay the insurance. They would be required to purchase the <br /> family coverage, Special Needs would pay for the children's <br /> coverage, up to $100.00 per month, for a period not to exceed six <br /> (6) months. Note: In order to be eligible for this, they must stay <br /> employed, as it will not include COBRA coverage. <br /> 3. Dental work, in select special cases, when it is necessary for <br /> employment, and it is documented that this is preventing them from <br /> obtaining employment. <br /> 4. Start up costs for purchasing an automobile, such as tire, tag, and <br /> first three (3) months of insurance. <br /> 5. Child care expenses, until other funds become available <br /> 6. Any other item or service that would contribute to a client obtaining <br /> or maintaining employment, such as uniforms, clothes, tools, <br /> licenses, etc. <br />Transportation Special Needs: New Welfare to Work funds will be <br />used to the extent possible to address transportation services needs. <br />This would be used to provide reliable employment related <br />transportation, and in certain select cases could assist in making a down <br />payment on a car. In order to qualify, the client must: <br /> 1. Be actively participating and meeting the requirements of Work <br /> F/rst. <br /> 2. In the case of reimbursement, the client must be employed full t/me. <br /> 3. Understand and accept that transportation will only be available for <br /> a maximum of ninety (90) days. <br /> 4. Have a valid NC Driver's License <br /> 5. In the cases where the client is receiving assistance in the purchase <br /> of a car, the following will apply: <br /> a. They must have been employed continuously at least three <br /> (3J months, and it is documented that they have demonstrated <br /> a past ability to be responsible. <br /> b. They must have a fairly clean driving record, with no DWI's. <br /> <br />c. Van Transportation Special Needs: This will be a leased or <br />purchased van, and will be operated like a bus, with designated pick-up <br />sites in the county. Eligibility for this service will be as follows: <br /> 1. Rider must live in the Concorcl/Kannapolis area, unless it is <br /> detemdned that there is a need in outlying areas. <br /> 2. Rider must pay a nominal fee for riding, as long as they are <br /> employed. <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br /> <br />
